The 29-year-old man has been in the serious criminal environments in Malmö for a long time.

The 29-year-old has had access to large sums of money and he has had a large network of contacts in Malmö, Sweden and abroad.

- Our work in Malmö has been directed at the group he was in, to try to prevent murders and other violent crimes, but the lack of the right legislation has meant that we have not been able to intercept digital traffic and prevent any of the murders.

If we had had the opportunity for secret data reading in 2017, we would probably have succeeded in averting the crime and preventing the murder, says Mattias Sigfridsson, Deputy Chief of Police in Malmö.

Convicted of order murder

The first murder was carried out in the Rosengård district in March 2017, when a 23-year-old was shot several times in the head and body by two perpetrators, who disappeared from there on a moped that was later found set on fire.

According to the indictment, the 29-year-old is said to have promised 50,000 euros in payment and given remote advice on how the murder would be carried out.

Another man has previously been sentenced to 18 years in prison for his involvement in and planning of the Rosengård murder.

Information in a mobile phone that was found when this man was arrested has formed an important part of the evidence against the 29-year-old who is now convicted of inciting murder in the case.

Free in one case

The second order murder for which he was charged was a fatal shooting on an open street in the district of Hermodsdal in February 2018.

Here, a person connected to the 29-year-old had arranged a meeting with the man to whom the murder plot concerned.

A large number of shots were fired - but the alleged murder victim escaped injury.

Instead, the man who was part of the murder plot was hit by at least five shots and died immediately.

In this case, the 29-year-old is sentenced for incitement to attempted murder against the man who survived unharmed, but is acquitted of incitement to murder the man who was shot dead.

The 29-year-old is also convicted of a serious money laundering offense.

- The investigation regarding Docentgatan also has a strong connection to the money laundering case for which the suspect was charged and which gave the investigation a clear picture - which is rarely the case otherwise, so our investigators have done a very skilled job, says David Sjöman, head of investigation in the case on Docentgatan .

A man is convicted of aiding and abetting the murder in Rosengård.

He is sentenced to eight years and six months in prison.

Another man who was also charged with aiding and abetting this murder is acquitted.
