Kiel (dpa / lno) - handball master THW Kiel will start selling season tickets for the next season in May.

“We assume that by summer at the latest - as promised by politicians - everyone will have received a vaccination offer.

The will to vaccinate is also great among our fans because this can be the key to returning to normal, ”said managing director Viktor Szilagyi on Thursday.

"In addition, the number of fully vaccinated people, who all long for a bit more normalcy, increases every day."

The next season starts in September.

The annual tickets are to be offered at the pre-Corona price.

The record champions and current Champions League winner suffered a significant financial loss due to the lack of spectators.

Around 40 percent of the total budget is covered by viewer income.

According to Szilagyi, that's five million euros.

Normally, the THW has around 240,000 spectators per season in the 10,285-seat hall.

This season there were only 8,650 until the lockdown. The club sells around 9,400 season tickets in a normal season.

“We all miss our fans more with every game - you can see that in the reactions of the players, who no longer react as exuberantly to experiences of achievement as in a crowded arena.

Because it is the best reward for our players to be celebrated after a successful event », said Szilagyi.
