The Rt contagion index rises: this week it is at 0.89

07 May 2021The coronavirus contagion index in Italy rises again this week, passing from 0.85 last week to 0.89.

According to what is learned, this is the value that the experts of the control room are evaluating for the weekly monitoring of the Iss-Ministry of Health.

According to the latest calculations, the incidence is still down from the value of 146 recorded in last week's monitoring, now reaching 127.

"The first thing to overcome today, also given the current situation, is the rt index that we are going to evaluate today". This was stated by the president of the Conference of the Regions, Massimiliano Fedriga, who considers it unreliable, speaking on Sky Tg24. Alternatively, according to Fedriga "an index to be taken into consideration is the hospital rt: to open if the requests for hospitalization increase or decrease and it is an indicator that can give an important signal, and that does not give a distorted vision".
