According to the ministry, archival materials tell about the battles of the Red Army to liberate Poland from the Nazi invaders, about the massive heroism of Soviet soldiers and officers.

“In October 2017, a law on decommunization came into force in Poland, under the cover of which the erasure of historical memory began almost throughout the country - the dismantling of monuments to the soldiers-liberators of the Red Army who liberated the Polish people from the“ brown plague ”- the German-fascist occupation.

In the past few years alone, more than ten monuments and memorials erected in honor of the soldiers and officers of the Red Army who died for the freedom and independence of Poland have been dismantled on the territory of the country.

Among them are the fraternal burials of Soviet soldiers in the Polish cities of Wroclaw, Lodz and Ravich, ”the message says.

The Ministry of Defense said that "the Red Army had to fight its way to the Victory with the hardest battles literally for every kilometer of the liberated Polish land."

It is noted that in the information published in the section on the losses of personnel in units of the 1st Ukrainian Front, it is stated that "in just one month of continuous fighting during January 1945, the front troops lost more than 18 thousand people killed."

The section also contains unique documents telling about the economic situation of the liberated Poland, about the assistance that the Red Army troops provided to the Polish administrative bodies in the liberated territories of the country and about the relations between the Polish and German populations in the western Polish regions.

“From the presented brief overview of the economy of right-bank Poland, compiled in November 1944, it follows that the German fascists during the occupation of these areas were plundering the population.

For example, since 1938, the number of cattle in the Lubelskiy and Warsaw provinces has decreased on average by more than half, the number of pigs - by more than 90%, ”the department said.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense, within the framework of the No Statute of Limitations project, presented a multimedia section “Decisive and Final ...”.
