China Taiwan Net, May 7th, comprehensive Taiwan media reported that the Kuomintang posted the 2021 party chairman election announcement in the Central Party Department Hall today (7th) morning. The local party departments announced the election of party representatives and officially launched the election process. Two elections Voting will be held together on July 24.

The Kuomintang chairman's announcement ceremony was co-chaired by Secretary-General Li Qianlong and Chairman Li Zhehua of the Organizing Development Committee.

According to the announcement, the Kuomintang chairman election is scheduled to receive the form on June 3 and 4, register candidates on the 7th and 8th, vote on July 24th, and announce the list of elected candidates before 27th.

It is worth noting that according to the operating rules, candidates for party chairmanship must be in the party for one year, and a registration fee of NT$200,000 must be paid when receiving the form; an operating fee of NT$3 million must be paid when registering. A deposit of NT$10 million is required (promissory notes can be issued).

In addition, party public officials who have not paid the amount of fund-raising responsibility in the previous year do not have the qualifications to be a candidate for the election of the chairman.

In response to the outside world's doubts about the "highest deposit in history" for the election of the KMT chairman, the KMT responded on the afternoon of the 6th, saying that the presidential election operation rules passed by the Central Standing Committee demonstrate that the KMT chairman candidates are willing to undertake to solve the party's financial difficulties. .

If you fail to be elected, the deposit will be refunded. If you are elected, it will be used to offset the first-year fundraising responsibilities that the party chairman originally had to bear. It is by no means an additional fee.

As for whether the former Kaohsiung Mayor Han Guoyu is running for the election, Li Qianlong said that it was only announced today that Han Guoyu will finally come to register, and the Party Central Committee declined to comment.
