After living in Uppsala all his working life, the 91-year-old moved back to Blekinge a few years ago, where he grew up.

This is also where he hopes the donation can yield results.

- I had a daily view of Snärkbackarna during my first 20 years of life and often wondered about all the secrets they hid.

I look forward to some of these now being revealed, he says.

Excavations at Hallarumsviken

The donation enables new archaeological excavations at Hallarumsviken, says Mikael Henriksson, archaeologist and unit manager at Blekinge Museum.

- With the help of the money, we can carry out, among other things, marine archeological inspections, metal detections and field inventories - and lay the foundation for a very positive process.
