As reported on the agency's website, earlier the application, owned by the State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company "Saratov", was removed from Google Play.

It contains biographies of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, whose names are given to streets in different cities of Russia.

The application is intended to preserve and pass on to generations the memory of the winners.

"Roskomnadzor sent a letter to the management of Google LLC with a request to remove the restriction on access to the Heroes Street application as soon as possible ... the letter from Roskomnadzor notes that such actions by the Google administration violate the key principles of free dissemination of information and unhindered access to it," noted in the department.

It is emphasized that Roskomnadzor requires not only informing about the lifting of restrictions, but also explaining the reasons for their introduction.

Earlier it was reported that the American corporations Google and Facebook could be fined another 20 million rubles each for refusing to delete prohibited information at the request of Roskomnadzor.
