Dresden (dpa / sn) - Interior Minister Roland Wöller (CDU) has described the classification of the Pegida movement as an object of observation as "long overdue".
"Right-wing extremist statements are made in public that are incompatible with the values of our Basic Law," he said on Friday in Dresden.
At the same time, he made it clear that anyone demonstrating peacefully and exercising their fundamental right to freedom of expression will not be observed.
"However, we firmly oppose those who want to abolish our constitutional order."
