In the autumn of 2020, between 15 and 17 million minks were killed in Denmark after the mutation was discovered.

Since then, the minks have caused a lot of debate and the handling has received harsh criticism.

One of the reasons for the criticism is the concern that the corpses will contaminate water sources and bathing lakes near the places where they were buried.

- They should never have buried the minks, says Palle Skov, contractor who lives near the mink graves.
