Ahrensburg (dpa) - The co-founder of the stationery manufacturer Edding, Carl-Wilhelm Edding, is dead. The namesake of the Edding Group died on April 27 in Hamburg at the age of 90, the company announced in Ahrensburg.

"We thank you for everything you have left us and will continue to cherish your name, but above all your values, with pride and a great sense of responsibility!" Said the company's obituary.

Edding founded the company in 1960 together with his school friend Volker D. Ledermann in Hamburg.

In 1986 he left the company.

Edding, based in Ahrensburg in Schleswig-Holstein, is best known for its felt-tip pens and permanent markers.
