Augsburg (dpa / lby) - Markus Weinzierl is making his coach comeback in the Bundesliga today at the relegation-threatened FC Augsburg.
“It's definitely tingling,” said the 46-year-old with a view to the game at his ex-club VfB Stuttgart.
At the start of the 32nd matchday with de FCA, Weinzierl is aiming to take a big step towards staying up.
Augsburg are in 13th place with 33 points. Stuttgart will be followed by a home game against Werder Bremen and on the last day of the match the away game in Munich against FC Bayern.
"There is always an effect with a change of coach," said Weinzierl, who had worked very successfully as a coach in Augsburg from 2012 to 2016.
The Bundesliga comeback after 748 days now leads him to Stuttgart of all places.
After a 6-0 draw in Augsburg, Weinzierl had to leave VfB Stuttgart on April 20, 2019.
