The case of Aung San Suu Kyi, the Counsellor of the State of Myanmar, on suspicion of violating the State Secrets Act opens again

  On the morning of May 6, local time, the Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi was reopened in the Yangon Eastern District Court on suspicion of violating the "State Secrets Law". The case was previously held twice on April 8 and April 22. .

According to the lawyer San Maranyu who was in charge of the case in the team of lawyers appointed by the Myanmar Democratic League for Aung San Suu Kyi, Aung San Suu Kyi’s Australian economic adviser Sean Turner was the principal culprit in the case, and Aung San Suu Kyi and Three ministers have also been charged in this case.

Once convicted, he may face up to 14 years in prison.

  The defense lawyers were not allowed to attend the court session on that day, and only the application of San Maranyu lawyers to view the case files and video interview with Aung San Suu Kyi was accepted.

According to the lawyer of San Maranyu, it is not yet possible to confirm whether there is a lawyer defending Sean Turner.

The case has not yet entered the stage of proof and cross-examination, and the court will open again on May 20.

  Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi is currently facing six prosecutions, and another five prosecutions are heard at the Zebudiriya Court in Naypyidaw.
