The fraud started when the woman from Uppvidinge municipality in Småland received a message on a messenger, which appeared to be from one of her friends.
There she was offered to take part in a competition.
Soon the friend heard from her again and announced that she had won.
The friend then offered to help deposit the money in the woman's account, all that was needed was a login with a bank ID.
What the woman did not know then was that her friend's account had been hijacked.
- When the woman checked her account a moment later, half a million kronor was missing.
In addition, the fraudster had tried to take out a loan of SEK 100,000 but failed, says the police spokesman in the south, Robert Loeffel.
According to the police, several similar reports have been received recently, and they therefore want to warn the public.
