Los Angeles (AP) - At the age of almost 60, George Clooney puts on his famous doctor smile again.

Two weeks before his big birthday (May 6th), the Hollywood star indulged in old memories of the hit series "Emergency Room" with ex-colleagues like Noah Wyle and Julianna Margulies.

As a sexy pediatrician Dr.

Doug Ross in a fictional Chicago hospital was the Oscar winner in Hollywood in the 90s.

"Man, how nice to see you," said Clooney enthusiastically at the virtual meeting at the end of April.

"Back then it was big television, we had so much fun and we became famous overnight," the star throws nostalgically into the group.

For the Hollywood reunion, for a charitable cause, Clooney was there at night from Europe.

His wife Amal would have watched the old "ER" episodes for the first time.

"A catastrophe for our marriage," Clooney quipped, because as the seducer of women, Dr.

He'd done so many bad things to Ross.

He had a long reputation as a Hollywood charmer. The US magazine “People” named him “Sexiest Man Alive” twice: in 1997, when Clooney still seduced him as an “ER” doctor, and in 2006, with the first gray hair. The eternal bachelor often emphasized that he was not made for marriage. He had already tried a marriage between 1989 and 1993 with the actress Talia Balsam. But there were many romances, from the Italian model Elisabetta Canalis to her colleague Renée Zellweger.

When he met the Lebanese human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin (43) in 2013, it happened very quickly: engagement (April 2014), wedding in Venice (September 2014) and the twins Ella and Alexander (June 2017).

After the twin birth in London, the new parents felt like joking.

"Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing well," said the celebrity couple from a spokesman.

And the father?

"George is drugged and should recover in a few days."

Not only humor, but also political commitment unites the couple.

She studied law in Oxford and New York, specializing in international law and human rights.

In addition to his film work, he is known as an ultra-liberal activist for humanitarian and social work.

This mission is often reflected in the films of the world star.

Last December, the streaming provider Netflix released the all-rounder’s latest project - Clooney is the lead actor, director and producer of the space drama and climate thriller “The Midnight Sky”.

He plays a scientist in the Arctic who wants to prevent a space mission from returning to Earth after a devastating environmental disaster.

The actor has long since shed vanity.

For the dark role of the post-apocalyptic survivor, Clooney lost weight and grew a full gray beard.

Clooney won his only acting Oscar to date for best supporting actor in the role of a CIA agent with a beard and stomach: for the political thriller "Syriana" (2006) he put on 15 kilograms and had the hairline reset.

As a screenwriter, director, producer and actor, Clooney has already been nominated for an Oscar eight times.

He won his second trophy in 2013 as a co-producer of the political drama “Argo”, together with Ben Affleck and his company partner Grant Heslov.

As a director, he has already made seven full-length feature films that have received critical acclaim, including the suburban crime film “Suburbicon”, the political drama “Ides of March” and the black and white film “Good Night, and Good Luck” about the communist hunt in the 1950s.

Clooney established himself as a cinema actor with Quentin Tarantino's cult horror film “From Dusk Till Dawn” - he made his debut in 1996 as a robber and murderer. A year later followed a crash landing with Bruce Wayne in "Batman & Robin". As Batman, he wore a rubber suit with fake nipples. "It's a terrible movie, I'm terrible in it," said Clooney in an interview with the US magazine "W" in February. But he has learned from it and has become more picky about role offers.

Clooney then chose top directors.

"Out of Sight" (1998) was the first of a total of six films with Steven Soderbergh.

He directed the war satire "Three Kings", directed by David O. Russell.

The Coen brothers put him in the Southern Odyssey "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"

(2000) as an escaped convict, Wolfgang Petersen entrusted him with the role of the ship's captain of the Andrea Gail in the disaster film “The Storm”.

He won over Danny Ocean as a casual noble thief in the "Ocean's" trilogy, seduced Catherine Zeta-Jones as a divorce lawyer in "An (im) possible hardship case".

For director Alfonso Cuarón he took off into space as an astronaut in "Gravity" alongside Sandra Bullock.

And what's next at the age of 60? Clooney has a full program. With his company Smokehouse Pictures he wants to produce a documentary series about an abuse scandal at a US university. As a director, he wants to get Ben Affleck in front of the camera for the bestseller film "The Tender Bar". As an actor, he is planning a further collaboration with his close friend Julia Roberts. In the romantic comedy "Ticket To Paradise" they are supposed to travel together as ex-spouses to Bali to prevent their daughter from marrying too young.

Clooney is apparently not bored in times of pandemics.

No time for new hobbies either, as he assured the magazine “W” with a wink.

"I'll tell you what my hobby is: two or three loads of washing a day, dishes all day long, because these kids are pure chaos," joked the twin father.
