For the first time in ten weeks, the R-number in Uppsala County is below 1.0.

The R-number tells how many people on average an infected individual passes on the infection to.

The proportion of positive test results has decreased in the past week and is now at ten percent.

However, no municipality is below 600 new cases a week, which means that the spread of infection is still very high in the county.

This is stated in the latest report from Crush covid (a research collaboration between Uppsala University and the region).

Älvkarleby is the only municipality where the infection goes up, but the spread of infection also varies greatly locally.

Infection has also increased in Lindbacken in Uppsala.

In the clip below, Mats Martinell from Crush covid explains what the r-number means.
