The hashtag "# Suleiman_khater" - the Egyptian soldier who killed a group of Israelis in 1985 - was the most popular in Egypt, coinciding with the publication of a video clip on Tuesday by Israeli media, which they said was of an exchange of dancing between Israeli female soldiers and Egyptian soldiers on both sides of the border fence between the two countries.

Despite the wide spread of the video on social media platforms and the strong condemnation and anger it raised, as well as skepticism on the part of some tweeters, no denial of its health was issued by the Egyptian government or the armed forces, which was considered by some as a confirmation of its health.

In the video, published by the Israeli "Kan" channel, two Israeli female soldiers were dancing to the rhythms of Arab music behind the border fence, and on the other side, two conscripts (presumably Egyptians) interacted with them by performing the same movements.

It is impossible for them to be Egyptian soldiers, the shot is as if it was prepared in advance for filming, and this is not the way the Egyptians dance, nor the shape of the borders with Palestine. It is

known that every year an Egyptian soldier breaks out and shoots at them, and the last incident this year.

If this incident is true, I hope that the two soldiers will be punished.

We will not accept this from our army.

From time immemorial, Egyptian-Israeli border soldiers have exchanged talk, eat and drink, and know each other well at the crossings. No wonder, neither betrayal nor recklessness.

The two parties are literally co-workers in one workplace whose job is to protect the boundaries of the two parties.

Wake up the war is over for a long time, and they still trade it.

Think about another thing

The pioneers of social media condemned the Egyptian soldiers dancing with the Israeli female soldiers - assuming that the video circulated - in the month of Ramadan, which witnessed the October 1973 war, and the fall of thousands of Egyptian martyrs during the war that witnessed the success of the Egyptian forces in crossing the Suez Canal, and the destruction of the impregnable Bar Lev Line. And the incursion into occupied Sinai.

Their condemnation increased by the fact that the video appeared days after the Sinai Liberation Day, which Egypt celebrates on April 25 each year, in which the Sinai land was restored after the withdrawal of the last Israeli soldier from it in accordance with the Camp David treaty, with the exception of the city of Taba, which was later recovered by international arbitration on the 15th. March 1989.

I don’t understand people are upset, why is it a video of Egyptian soldiers dancing with Israeli female soldiers on the border. I mean, now I see the enemy dancing in front of me and making me angry, so I don’t dance too and tell him that there is no difference with me.

If the video clip published by one of the occupation sites is correct about the participation of two Egyptian soldiers dancing with two Israeli female soldiers, on the same music on both sides of the border, then I can only have mercy on the spirit of # Soliman_khater

Activists circulated pictures of the Egyptian soldier Suleiman Khater, and narrated what happened to him after he killed the Israelis who tried to cross the borders, stressing that what he did at the time was a heroic act that he must do at all times towards a usurper occupier, and what he faced in the fate after that was the height of injustice and disappointment.

Others demanded the need to open an investigation with the soldiers who dance with the Israeli female soldiers, considering what happened was the height of ignorance, shame, and moral and actual betrayal of the Palestinian people, while their sons were fighting in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, to preserve their homes from theft by Israeli settlers.

I don’t understand people are upset, why is it a video of Egyptian soldiers dancing with Israeli female soldiers on the border. I mean, now I see the enemy dancing in front of me and making me angry, so I don’t dance too and tell him that there is no difference with me.

It is noteworthy that Suleiman Khater was commander of Point 46 of the Central Security Forces in the Ras Burqa area in Sinai after the signing of the Camp David agreement with Israel, which stipulated the withdrawal of all military forces and the evacuation of the area of heavy weapons and military equipment.

In October 1985, Khater was surprised, during his guard duty in Sinai, at a group of Israeli tourists who tried to climb towards him, so he tried to stop them, and they did not care about him, so he fired warning shots in the air, and they did not respond to them either, so he fired his bullets towards them and killed 7 of them.

Khater surrendered himself after the incident, for his leadership to be transferred to the Military Court by a Republican decision by the late President Hosni Mubarak instead of the civil judiciary in accordance with the constitution stipulated in the trial of police officers, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labor in December 1985.

On the morning of January 7, 1986, the Egyptian Radio announced that Khater had "committed suicide" in his room at the prison hospital, in a case that remains shrouded in mystery until now.
