At the end of February, stricter recommendations were introduced in Västerbotten as a complement to the national councils.
These are now extended again until 23 May.
At the moment, the spread of infection according to the region is alarmingly high in the Umeå area.
The infection occurs at all ages, but the largest number of new cases is seen among young adults.
- However, the situation can change quickly, we have previously had a large spread of infection in Skellefteå and Lycksele and then managed to reverse the negative curve. The recommendations apply throughout Västerbotten, no matter where you are, and it is each individual's responsibility to ensure that they are followed. It is still our behavior and our routines that can affect the spread of infection, says Stephan Stenmark.
