Social dumping is when a municipality forces a person in need of support measures, such as income support, to move to another municipality.
The recipient municipalities do not always have the financial muscle to solve this.
Now the government wants the county administrative boards to ensure that the municipalities cooperate instead.
- We already have established networks and work, for example, to prevent evictions, says Linda Pergelius Thorbjörnson, head of the county administrative board's unit for social sustainability, to SVT Nyheter Öst.
Is this a big problem in the county?
- I feel that this was a bigger problem a few years ago and that the situation is better today.
We have just received the assignment and will start by getting to know the scope.
The assignment starts already now and will last for the rest of the year with the opportunity to be extended and expanded if the Riksdag allocates money for it.
