Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - This is where hands are laid where there is otherwise lively debates, there is screwing and hammering, chairs are being moved and carpets are being laid: Every year craftsmen rebuild the plenary hall of the state parliament - because the arithmetic of the Power shifts.
One faction wins a few chairs, the other has to slim down.
A total of eleven additional members have to find space in the hall, 154 members of the new state parliament.
But you don't have to move closer together - there is still room for seating, especially at the back.
"We used the space at the back," said a spokesman for the state parliament.
But things could soon get tight: the devices in the sub-floor - a rail system for the firmly anchored chairs - offer space for 160 elected officials.
