Stralsund (dpa / mv) - Last year, the mobile control units of the main customs office in Stralsund initiated a total of 634 criminal and fine proceedings.

In 2020, around 82,000 people and vehicles were examined by the mobile teams, as customs announced on Thursday.

These controls led to the seizure of 217 prohibited items such as air guns, knives and stun guns.

In addition, around 1900 prohibited fireworks and around 100 kilograms of narcotics were seized.

Open money claims of the federal government in the amount of 350,000 were foreclosed on site.

The enforcement agency based at the main customs office received 71 626 orders last year, according to the information.

Claims of around 32.5 million euros were collected, almost five million euros more than in 2019. According to customs, the largest portion was paid back to social security agencies.
