Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The business graduate and experienced manager Stefan Ebert takes over the management of Lotto-Toto GmbH Saxony-Anhalt.

The 53-year-old from Magdeburg has more than 25 years of experience in e-commerce, project management and controlling, the Ministry of Finance announced in Magdeburg on Thursday.

He will start his new job at the state-owned company on June 1st.

Lotto supervisory board chairman Thomas Webel stated: “In Stefan Ebert we have won a seasoned manager to run Lotto-Toto GmbH.

We are convinced that with his experience and personal competence he will make a major contribution to keeping the successful national company in calm waters. "

Ebert's predecessor duo was dismissed in mid-September 2020.

Board chairman Webel had justified this with the fact that they had not informed the supervisory bodies about unusually high stakes in a lottery shop in Zerbst (Anhalt-Bitterfeld district).

Several major players were able to make high profits because, among other things, the game limit was increased with the approval of Landes-Lotto.

The boardroom had informed the money laundering office, but not the responsible authorities and committees in the country.

A parliamentary committee of inquiry also dealt with various inconsistencies in Lotto-Toto Sachsen-Anhalt.

As a result, there was talk of “becoming independent, willingness to take risks and exaggerated sales orientation”.
