Leipzig (AP) - In the first Bundesliga game after a three-week break, the handball players of the SC DHfK Leipzig suffered a defeat.

The team of coach André Haber lost on Thursday evening in the home arena of MT Melsungen with 29:33 (13:13).

The best thrower in Leipzig was international Philipp Weber with seven hits.

The neighbors in the table delivered a thrilling first half, in which no team could significantly break away.

After the break, the hosts initially had slight advantages and maintained a narrow lead, before the Melsungers turned a 23:24 deficit into a 28:24 lead with five goals in a row.

For eight minutes, the Leipziger remained without a goal.

The offensive of the SC DHfK started again afterwards, but the guests always had the right answer ready and deserved to win.
