Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU) made a mistake when explaining the corona rules.

After he said at a press conference on Wednesday that municipalities with a double-digit Corona weekly incidence could regulate relaxation and allow outdoor restaurants to be opened, the correction came on Thursday.

The statement was not correct, said the NRW Ministry of Health on Thursday.

Only when municipalities are below a seven-day incidence of 50 could they take further easing on their own initiative.

"The gastronomy could only open from under 50 and not from under 100."

The gastronomy is one of the industries that has been hardest hit by the consequences of the corona pandemic.

Cafes and restaurants have been closed since November, they are only allowed to sell food and drink to take away.

The industry association Dehoga NRW insists on a “clear, unambiguous and reliable opening perspective” for the domestic hospitality industry.
