Chinanews, May 6th, a comprehensive report, after the Indian state of West Bengal announced the election results a few days ago, a large-scale riot broke out, and more than a dozen people have been killed in the violent conflict.

  The results announced on the 2nd showed that the grassroots Congress Party defeated the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to India’s New Delhi TV station, within 24 hours of the announcement of the election results, at least 12 people in West Bengal were killed in violent clashes.

According to the BBC, at least 17 people died in the conflict.

  A senior police officer in West Bengal stated that violence has been particularly serious in at least six areas in the state, and the homes of about 100 political workers from both political parties have been attacked and damaged.

  The two parties accused each other of inciting violence.

The Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that at least six party workers were killed, and dozens of supporters’ houses and party offices were attacked, destroyed and burned.

The grassroots Congress Party claimed that five supporters had died.

  The elected Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, asked people to exercise restraint and refrain from participating in any violent activities.
