A Hong Kong court sentenced four democratic activists, Joshua Wong, to four months in prison last June for attending an unauthorized rally in memory of the victims of the Tiananmen Square incident. I was sentenced to 10 months in prison.

Twenty-four democratic activists, including Joshua Wong, were charged with attending an unauthorized rally on June 4, last year, and the court last month against four of them, including Huang, who pleaded guilty. I was convicted on the 30th.

The court sentenced Huang to 10 months in prison and the other three to 4 to 6 months in prison, all sentenced to four months in prison on the 6th.

Mr. Huang has already been sentenced to two prison sentences in connection with another protest, which will extend his sentence further.

The rally was held annually to commemorate the victims of the Tiananmen Square Incident in 1989, and was perceived as a symbolic event that allowed "freedom of assembly" even after Hong Kong was returned to China, but last year. Police did not allow the event for the first time to prevent the transmission of the new coronavirus.

The organizer plans to hold it, but the court also points out that "the ruling also serves as a warning to prevent others from committing similar crimes," as usual. There is a growing view that it will be difficult to hold.
