Everyone over 50 can be vaccinated from May 10, instead of May 15, and the doses available at the end of the day will be open to everyone the next day "without age limit", Emmanuel Macron announced Thursday, in order to '' accelerate the vaccine campaign against Covid-19.

"We don't want to waste any dose," so "from Wednesday 12th you will be able to look on the site the day before if there are doses available the next day where you are and appointments. you who are not taken "and these available appointments will be open" without age limit ", explained the Head of State by inaugurating the first major Paris vaccine park, Porte de Versailles in Paris.

So far in Paris "there has been no mess, all the doses have been used in the centers, but we want to optimize and be sure that all the doses are fully used", he added, specifying that "it is an exceptional device".

When over 50s, for whom the vaccination opening date has been brought forward by 5 days, they can make an appointment on Friday, May 7.

"The objective, of course, is to continue to march forward," insisted Mr. Macron, reaffirming the objective of reaching 30 million vaccinated on June 15.

The government has set itself the goal of reaching the 20 million mark for the first doses injected by May 15, then 30 million a month later.

As of Tuesday, 16.4 million people had received at least one dose and 7.3 million received two doses.

France expects more vials of the four vaccines authorized in May (4.5 million doses per week) and June (6.9 million weekly).

In the first Parisian vaccine park, installed in hall 5 of the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, 2,500 to 3,000 people can be vaccinated every day.

Divided into four units of six boxes each, or 24 vaccination lines, the vaccinodrome, which began operations on Wednesday, is open 7 days a week, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

It is managed entirely by the Paris fire brigade.

Rescuers carry out the vaccinations, only with the Pfizer vaccine for now.
