Stade (dpa / lni) - A herd of around 300 sheep broke out on Thursday night and blocked a country road near Drochtersen on the Elbe.
There was no accident, said the police in the Stade district.
A driver noticed the animals on state road 111 and called the rescue workers.
Police and firefighters secured the herd until the shepherd arrived.
Then we joined forces to drive the animals to their pasture on the Elbe dike.
After an hour the road was clear again.
