Erfurt (dpa / th) - Since the Corona crisis is burdening young teachers with their own children, the Young Thuringian Teachers Association (Junge tlv) insists on more accommodation for this group.

These teachers are also affected if their children's schools have to close due to a pandemic, because not all of them are entitled to emergency care, according to an argument of the association.

Those responsible in politics should not ignore the problems, said Tim Reukauf, spokesman for the boy tlv, according to a statement on Thursday.

"Otherwise, in the foreseeable future, you will face such a major personnel problem that the current shortage of teachers will look harmless in retrospect."

One of the demands of the young teachers is that more consideration must be given to colleagues with their own children who have to be cared for when planning a deployment.

The offer of emergency care should also be expanded for them.

In addition, schools should be better equipped.

This is about the functionality of the school cloud, which children can be taught about at home.

The support of school psychologists, school social workers, school health workers, but also IT experts is also needed, according to Reukauf.

The basis for the claim are the results of a non-representative online survey that the boy tlv carried out at the end of March on the subject of multiple exposure in the pandemic among almost 400 participants.
