Düsseldorf (AP) - Almost four months after the conviction of an IS terrorist from Tajikistan, another trial against alleged members of the Tajik terror cell begins at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court.

As the OLG announced on Thursday, five men are charged with planning attacks in Germany.

Among other things, they are said to have prepared the murder of an Islam-critical YouTube channel operator from Neuss.

The murder was only barely prevented by the access of a special task force, it said in a statement from the Attorney General in mid-February.

The accused already had a firearm including a silencer.

The trial at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court begins on May 19.

Numerous follow-up dates are planned for the end of the year.

Investigators broke up the alleged terrorist cell in April 2020.

At that time, four men were arrested in North Rhine-Westphalia.

At the end of January this year, the OLG sentenced a member of the terror cell to seven years in prison in a first trial.
