In December 2019, the news came that Ryanair's base at Skavsta outside Nyköping would close.

But that one would continue to operate the airport.

On Thursday, the news came that the airline is starting a new base with two aircraft at Arlanda.

At the press conference, they announced that the investment will involve 21 routes, 89 departures a week and 60 new jobs.

The Irish low-cost airline says it will not leave Skavsta completely, but currently intends to use both airports.
