The return of Egyptian businessman Ashraf Al Saad to Cairo - coming from London on Wednesday after an absence of more than 25 years - ignited social networking sites in Egypt.
The news of Saad’s return topped the Egyptian social media and news sites, starting with his announcement - through his Twitter account - of his return to Egypt, accompanied by his picture inside the plane heading to Cairo, and interaction with the news increased after announcing his arrest inside the capital airport, before he was quickly released.
According to the local media, Al-Saad was kept by the security authorities at the airport, to ensure the safety of his legal position, and the fall of the rulings issued against him during the period of his escape, and then he was released later, as he went to his hometown in the Dakahlia Governorate.

The return of Ashraf Al Saad after his long absence sparked a great controversy among the pioneers of social networking sites, including the man’s history of bus stations, which began with the famous money-placement cases in the late eighties and his escape from Egypt, and ended with his absolute support for the current regime and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his constant attack on his opponents.
Followers were divided over the verdict on his return;
Some of them refused his return in this way, demanding not to forget the history of the man who wasted the money of the Egyptians under the pretext of employing them, and lived in London throughout these years enjoying the money of those who trusted him and deposited their savings with his company in the hope of the fictional profits that he was providing.
On the other hand, the supporters of the authority praised Ashraf Al-Saad and considered that he had made a mistake and met his penalty, and he returned the money of depositors, and he no longer had judicial rulings, stressing that he stood by the Egyptian state represented by its president during the past years with courage and attacked the enemies of the authority, which should be rewarded for him.
Ashraf Al-Saad is a swindler and a stealer of sustenance for many people in exile, including my father, who lost his life in the Gulf after investing it with Ashraf Al-Saad, who is like him.
The problem is that when I faced the past year, instead of apologizing, I denied and claimed that my father took his right.

Ashraf Al Saad's first media appearance was not long overdue.
During his detention at the airport, he made a phone call to the program “On My Responsibility” presented by Ahmed Moussa, a journalist who is close to the authority, on the Sada Al-Balad channel, in which he said that he had paid all the citizens ’money and did not owe any money to anyone.
