The U.S. Trade Representative said it supports an intellectual property exemption for the COVID-19 vaccine.

U.S. Trade Representative Catherine Tai said that he supported the exemption in relation to the COVID-19 vaccine intellectual property rights, and Joe Biden said the U.S. administration will continue efforts to expand vaccine manufacturing and increase the supply of raw materials, Reuters reported.

But Thai said negotiations over the vaccine IPR exemption will take time.

While the world is suffering from a shortage of the Corona 19 vaccine, a plan to expand production by suspending intellectual property protection such as patents for vaccines has been discussed in order to solve this problem.
