Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - Saxony-Anhalt promotes the digitization of music schools.

All 20 institutions organized in the regional association of music schools would be equipped with the appropriate technology, announced the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digitization in Magdeburg on Wednesday.

All permanent teachers should have a digital device.

There is also a cooperation with the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, which offers workshops.

The aim is to optimize the use of digital media in music educational work.

The state is providing 200,000 euros for this, the regional association of music schools contributes a contribution of 50,000 euros, as the ministry also announced. «In times of Corona, the music plays mainly online. The pandemic poses major challenges for music schools and students, ”said State Secretary for Economic Affairs Thomas Wünsch. That is why the regional association is being supported in investing in the technical basis for digital teaching. "Music schools and the quality of their teaching will also benefit from this step into the digital future after Corona."

The managing director of the Music School Association, Christian Reineke said: "Our goal is to network the players at the music schools and to strengthen their digital skills."

The individual music schools should receive support through ideas and creative workshops as well as on-site workshops.

The result will be published in a scientific study.
