May 05, 2021Record of the last 5 years for the food emergency in the world.

In 2020, at least 155 million people were exposed to the risk of acute 'food insecurity' at critical or worse levels in 55 countries / territories.

A figure that appears to grow by about 20 million compared to 2019.

The economic shock resulting from Covid-19 represents the second cause after the wars, supplanting extreme climatic events that become the third cause.

This is the figure that emerges from the annual report published by the global network against food crises (Gnafc), an alliance between United Nations agencies, the EU, government bodies and NGOs.
