Lüneburg (AP) - After the violent death of a mother in Wrestedt in the Uelzen district, the trial before the Lüneburg district court begins on Thursday (10:00 a.m.) against a 38-year-old from the Rostock region.

The German is said to have insidiously killed the 56-year-old with an object on December 11, 2020.

According to the prosecution's indictment, the accused originally went to the house to kill her daughter in revenge for a criminal complaint.

But when her mother opened the front door, the defendant killed her with an iron bar and an ax in order to get revenge on her daughter.

The 38-year-old reported to the police by phone after the crime.

He was arrested at the scene without resistance.

He is said to have stalked the victim's daughter who lives in Rostock.

Because of the large number of participants, the main hearing will take place in the conference center of the Bergström Hotel in Lüneburg.
