Dusseldorf (dpa / lnw) - districts and independent cities with a stable seven-day incidence below 100 can already open outdoor restaurants, according to Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU).

"If individual municipalities that are under 100, the municipalities can make openings via municipal decree," said Laumann on Wednesday in Düsseldorf when asked about openings in the hospitality industry.

Exceptions are possible in the national ordinances of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

If a municipality, with an incidence of 70, for example, wants to open outdoor dining, the district administration or the city administration can decide.

This is how the previous regulations in North Rhine-Westphalia would provide

The state government will still decide which regulations should apply nationwide from May 15 in municipalities with an incidence of 100.

Laumann also referred to the municipal model projects for openings that could not have started yet.

That too will now all come with incidences below 100.
