Researchers around the world are now looking at how drone traffic will be handled in the future.

Valentin Polishchuk leads the research group at Linköping University, which uses Norrköping as a model when developing flight corridors for drones.

He believes that there may be thousands of drones above Norrköping - see more about it in the video above.

Mass testing of Covid using drones

Last year, the British newspaper Daily Mail wrote about the researchers in Norrköping, because then they had calculated how many drones would be required to do frequent tests of the people of Norrköping in the event of a pandemic.

The test equipment was to be flown out of Vrinnevis Hospital, and the researchers came to the conclusion that 36 drones were enough for all Norrköping residents to be able to test themselves every four days.

The research group will also participate in a European project next year, when it will be tested in six places in Europe to send packages for longer distances with pre-programmed drones.

In Sweden, the package will be flown between Linköping and Norrköping.
