Wolfsburg (AP) - The Eisbären Berlin screwed up the Grizzly Wolfsburg's first chance for the title and preserved their own chance for the championship.

The former series champion won the second final game in Wolfsburg on Wednesday 4: 1 (1: 0, 2: 1, 1: 0) and, thanks to the goals of Frank Hördler (17th minute), Ryan McKiernan (28th), forced Sebastian Streu (31st) and Lukas Reichel (59th) a third game.

Whoever wins in Berlin on Friday (7.30 p.m.) will be the 100th German ice hockey champion.

The polar bears are aiming for their eighth title, the grizzlies their first.

On Sunday, Wolfsburg won 3-2 after extra time, this time only Gerrit Fauser met (38th).
