Mechernich (dpa) - A corpse was found in a cemetery in Mechernich near Bonn, which puzzles the authorities.
A police spokesman said on Wednesday that no one had actually been buried at the site for a long time.
"In the best case, the deceased had a very good coffin, in the worst case someone has found an interesting place to put a corpse there," said the spokesman.
That is what is now being investigated.
The part of the cemetery where the remarkably well-preserved body was found had recently been made available for burials according to the Muslim rite.
While excavating a new grave, the remains were discovered.
The "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" and other media had reported.
