Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The compulsory stable for poultry, which has been in force since mid-November, will be lifted in Hamburg from Thursday.

The avian influenza pathogen is only found sporadically in wild birds, said the consumer protection authority in Hamburg on Wednesday.

Avian influenza has been detected in around 40 wild birds in Hamburg since October.

The number of cases has recently continued to decline.

There were no infections in animal holdings.

The Friedrich Loeffler Institute (FLI) now also classifies the nationwide risk for poultry farming as moderate.

Due to this development, the stable requirement could be lifted.
