• Election result Isabel Díaz Ayuso knocks out Pedro Sánchez and the PSOE loses the leadership of the left

  • Last minute Madrid elections results, live news

The results of the regional elections in the

Community of Madrid

have highlighted the bias to the left of the latest survey by the Sociological Research Center (CIS), as it calculated ten more seats for the PSOE and ten less for the PP.

Faced with the coinciding predictions of all the polls of the rest of the demographic companies, in its

flash poll

released on April 22, in the middle of the electoral campaign, the center chaired by the socialist sociologist José Félix Tezanos glimpsed a certain balance between the left and right blocs, and even gave more possibilities for a regional government of PSOE, Más Madrid and Unidas Podemos, something that the electoral results have denied.

The imbalance is basically determined by an overrepresentation of the PSOE in the survey, accompanied by a lower expectation of the PP.

Thus, the CIS thought that the PP would remain at 36.7% and between 54 and 56 seats, but the candidacy of Isabel Díaz Ayuso has exceeded 44% and, with 90% scrutinized, it had secured 65 seats, above even from the sum of PSOE, United We Can and More Madrid.

And to those ten PP seats below what was obtained, there are added many others due to the error of the CIS in attributing to the PSOE a vote estimate of 23.4% and between 34 and 36 deputies, when in reality the Socialists have remained between 24 and 25 seats and around 17.2% of the votes.

As for Más Madrid, the CIS calculated between 22 and 24 seats with 15.1% of the vote and in the end Mónica García's list has exceeded expectations by harvesting 17% and 24 deputies, surpassing the Socialists in votes .

The results of the other parties would be in line with what was predicted by the CIS, although Unidas Podemos has been below what was calculated (10 deputies and 7.36% compared to the estimate of 11 to 13 deputies and one 8.4%), and Vox has obtained somewhat more than expected: 13 deputies and 9.14%, better than the range of 11 to 13 deputies and 8.2% that was thought.

The CIS has been correct in placing Ciudadanos outside the Madrid Assembly, but it thought it would be closer to the 5% threshold, since it calculated 4.6%, and in the end the 'orange' party has remained by 3.5%.

But beyond the failure of the CIS predictions in Madrid, the 4-M result has left the public body in evidence that despite the fact that the

Central Electoral Board

reproached it for breaking the law, the Sociological Research Center continued to survey in the days when polls could no longer be published. And he did so even on election day reflection.

In fact, according to EL MUNDO published yesterday, on Monday, May 3, a few hours after the polling stations in Madrid opened, the CIS conducted 411 interviews, in the morning and in the afternoon. In the previous days, the team of

J

osé Félix Tezanos made another 2,859 calls to citizens of Madrid to press the intention to vote in the final stretch of the campaign and to track undecided people. In total, the respondents have been 3,270.

And at the same time, Tezanos was dispatched at ease in an article in the magazine

Temas

in which he insults the voters of the PP and calls them "tabernarios." The text was published on May 1, two days after the

popular

raised a claim to the

Electoral Board

after learning that Tezanos was polling the people of Madrid despite the fact that no more polls can be published.

Hiding behind some analysts he does not identify, he attributes to the PP candidate, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, a "scarce intellectual and political entity" and highlights his "poor previous trajectory in the PP".

The sociologist recalls "the humiliation she had to endure from those who valued her optimal level of competence in her day, commissioning her to

Esperanza Aguirre's

)".

The former member of the PSOE Executive compares the winner of the election night with

Donald Trump

for his "similar features" and his "lack of brilliant political trajectories."
