The current season of the reality show Paradise hotel is stopped completely after allegations of sexual abuse during the filming, one of which is now being investigated as rape.

The decision was made after the program was broadcast, which led to a storm of viewers, and which later led several previous participants to come forward and testify about previous experiences with similar events.

Employees testify to an extreme culture of silence

According to the production company Mastiff's CEO Matilda Snöwall, they do not recognize themselves in the picture and believe that the staff should always interrupt when there is abuse.

But that is not true, says Irena Pozar and points to a review of Veckorevyn where former employees describe abuse as everyday food.

- Employees have sounded the alarm but they have put the lid on.

There is an extreme culture of silence in this industry, if you turn your back on a production company, you will never get a job again, says Irena Pozar.

Pozar: Insane that you were not prepared for this

Pozar sees a basic problem with the TV format with isolated participants, a lot of alcohol, partying and intrigue creating problems.

But that makes the production company's actions even more incomprehensible, she says.

- Then you should be even more prepared and have even clearer routines and rules for what to do if something happens. Nevertheless, it has been just the opposite. They have not intervened and have not let participants and employees talk about what has happened. So the format makes up for this, it's a problem in itself. But it just shows how insane it is not to have been prepared for this, says Pozar.
