Vaccine appointments at Karolinska University Hospital were booked on Tuesday morning in the region's own care app for people in phase 4, despite the times being intended for phase 3. According to Claes Ruth, who is head of the medical diagnostics department at Karolinska University Hospital, they are now investigating what it is due to.

- The vaccination process, currently intended for risk groups, has probably been used incorrectly in that people who do not belong to risk groups still book vaccination times, he says.

Letter as certificate

Everyone in phase 3 - who is 65 years or older and younger who belong to a risk group - has received a letter home and can then book an appointment.

But in the actual appointment booking in the app, it is not technically possible to limit the booking to certain medical risk groups or diagnostic criteria, according to Claes Ruth.

This could explain why even younger people who do not belong to a risk group have been able to book.

The system is based on taking your letter with you to certify on site at the vaccination that you have the right to receive the vaccine - without both the booked time and the certificate, you will not be vaccinated in the current phase.

1177.se states that "The booking for you in phase 4 is not open".

According to the vaccine coordinator in the Stockholm region Magnus Thyberg, an ongoing assessment of booking pressure and the proportion vaccinated in phase 3 is underway to decide on the next phase.
