Berlin / Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The number of new corona infections recorded per 100,000 inhabitants and seven days continues to decline in Saxony-Anhalt.

It was 152.7 on Tuesday morning, according to figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

On Monday, the RKI had a value of 157.0, after 160.6 on Sunday and 168.9 on Saturday.

According to the information, 256 new corona infections were reported to the RKI nationwide within 24 hours as well as twelve other deaths related to the virus.

The nationwide seven-day incidence was 141.4 on Tuesday, according to the RKI.

More than 7,500 new infections were reported within 24 hours.

For the Harz and Burgenland districts, the RKI reported the highest seven-day incidences in the country on Tuesday at 203.5 and 203.0.

Eleven districts were between 100 and 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and seven days.

The independent city of Magdeburg alone was below this with a value of 84.2.
