“From 2020 to the present, almost 280 people have been deprived of their previously acquired citizenship of the Russian Federation,” the message says.

As noted, foreigners may lose citizenship if, at the stage of obtaining it, they submitted false information about themselves, or if the purpose of this was to carry out activities that pose a threat to the foundations of the country's constitutional system.

The fact of the use of forged documents or the communication of deliberately false information is established in court, the department informed.

At the end of April, the launch of the international track of the Leaders of Russia competition was announced. The winners will be able to apply for Russian citizenship in a simplified manner.
