Envy is a powerful feeling.
An uncomfortable mix of anger, anger, and sadness.
Envy stings in the heart, envy presses in the stomach.
If you follow the corona debate over the past few days, many people should feel this feeling.
Because after the vaccination envy comes the envy of relaxation for the around three million fully vaccinated and around 6.6 million corona recovered in the country.
In some federal states, these groups no longer need a negative test result for the small freedoms in the pandemic. At the end of this week or the beginning of next week, nationwide easing is expected to come into force for them. Everything is going quickly now - at least for those who have already had the luck with the vaccination. And there it is, the envy. Hopefully this brings us to one of the last, but not to be underestimated, challenges of this pandemic: Now the task is to overcome this envy. Because he stands in the way of all of us.
Quite apart from the great argument that a permanent restriction of the basic rights of vaccinated and convalescent people would be disproportionate, in the fight against gloomy feelings it is worth looking at very practical aspects of such relaxation.
Because they also have advantages for those who are still waiting for the redeeming vaccination appointment.
The rapid test centers, for example, would be relieved if the fully vaccinated did not block appointments in order to meet the test requirements for purchases.

According to the planned regulation, even unvaccinated people could soon meet more people, namely if completely vaccinated people are not counted in the restrictions.
And who knows, maybe it will soon be possible for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered to sit in bars and restaurants - so that there will still be places where we want to celebrate the end of the pandemic.
An important prerequisite for such steps to work: everyone must continue to comply with the hygiene rules that apply to the respective group.
Some people will now scold these thoughts as "fair talking".
But what is the alternative?
That after all the efforts of the last year and despite the long-awaited progress in combating the pandemic, we remain in debates of envy?
