Campaigning against Donald Trump, Joe Biden promised to increase the number of refugees on American soil by eight.
A month after his election, the president renewed this promise to break with the Trump administration on immigration matters.
And yet, a few weeks ago,

on the left by announcing finally wanting to keep Donald Trump's historically low threshold, limiting the number of entries to 15,000 refugees each year on American soil. An "

had then thundered Alexandria Occasio-Cortez on Twitter. "
Biden promised to welcome immigrants, people voted for him for it," wrote the young Democratic MP. Maintaining the racist policies of the Trump administration is simply wrong.

Obviously, the anger of the very influential figure of the left of the American left was heard in the White House.
This Monday, Joe Biden finally announces that 62,500 refugees will be able to enter the United States in the next six months.
They will be 125,000 in 2022. The campaign promise has therefore been kept.
