Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The incidence of corona infections in Rhineland-Palatinate fell to the lowest level in more than three weeks on Tuesday.

The state investigation office determined a value of 113.7.

The highest seven-day incidence of the latest wave was registered in Rhineland-Palatinate on April 25, with 143.1 infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

The health authorities reported 572 new corona infections by Tuesday (2:10 p.m.).

Currently, 15,346 people in the country are infected with the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,577 Covid-19 patients have died, 13 more than the previous day.

The highest seven-day incidence was according to the figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Monday morning (as of 3.10 a.m.) in the Donnersberg district at 181.9.

This is followed by the cities of Worms (173.6) and Ludwigshafen (167.8) and the Südliche Weinstrasse district (166.5).

24 of the 36 counties and cities are above an incidence of 100.

The Vulkaneifel district has the lowest incidence with 46.2.

In the state capital Mainz there are 146.9.

According to the State Investigation Office, 50 Covid 19 patients were brought to hospital within one day.

According to the data from the intensive care register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (Divi), 194 Covid-19 patients were in intensive care units in hospitals in Rhineland-Palatinate.

107 of them received invasive ventilation (as of 12.15 p.m.).

The pandemic began in Rhineland-Palatinate at the end of February 2020 with a positive test in Koblenz.

Since then, 142,476 people in the state have been proven to have been infected with Sars-CoV-2.
