The outgoing LR president of the Paca region, Renaud Muselier, reiterated on Tuesday that there would be "no agreement at any level whatsoever with En Marche" for the regional elections in June.

"I will lead a team whose backbone will naturally be Les Républicains", affirms Mr. Muselier, defending "a logic of large gathering with the sole objective of helping the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region".

If he says that "there is not and there will be no agreement at any level whatsoever with En Marche, no more than with other devices," Mr. Muselier specifies that he is sensitive to all the support that comes forward ".

Thus this team "will be faithful to the plural regional majority with our natural allies and personalities from civil society" as well as "all those who will want with us to contribute to the success of our regional project", he adds.

"On the project, the orientations, the composition of the lists, I will be the only decision maker", recalls Mr. Muselier who will study "with the heads of departmental lists" and "on a case by case basis each application", on the basis of what 'he called the "PCR test" (project, competence, commitment).

Deeming "necessary to clarify the situation", it annoys to see that some "want to use the regional ones for projects which are not mine".

LR convened its strategic committee Tuesday after the announcement, by Jean Castex, of a withdrawal from the LREM list in favor of Renaud Muselier for the regional Paca.

For Mr. Muselier, the Prime Minister's support is "eminent recognition of the quality of our record" but also "a response to the desire for openness that I have repeatedly expressed and that he shares".

But this regional election "can in no way (...) be an opportunity to prepare for the presidential election or imagine any political recomposition," he adds.
