- There are four trees closest to Södra Kungsgatan that can be taken down for a new bus lane when the work of demolishing and building the new culture house begins, says Daniel Olsson (S), chairman of the community building committee in Gävle.
It was just over a month ago that the municipal council in Gävle approved the detailed plan for the new culture house that will replace the entire block where the current city library is located.
They want to start the demolition work already this summer, which will have a major impact on the local area and this is where the lindens outside risk being sacrificed.
The opposition is critical of the proposal.
